Cast AI is the leading Application Performance Automation (APA) platform, enabling customers to cut cloud costs, improve performance, and boost productivity – automatically.

Built originally for Kubernetes, Cast AI goes beyond cost and observability by delivering real-time, autonomous optimization across any cloud environment. The platform continuously analyzes workloads, rightsizes resources, and rebalances clusters without manual intervention, ensuring applications run faster, more reliably, and more efficiently.

Headquartered in Miami, Florida, Cast AI has employees in more than 32 countries worldwide and supports some of the world’s most innovative teams running their applications on all major cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Over 2,100 companies already rely on Cast - from BMW and Akamai to Hugging Face and NielsenIQ.

What’s next? Backed by our $108M Series C, we’re doubling down on making APA the new standard for DevOps and MLOps, and everything in between.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Tooling Team. In this role, you will work on developing custom internal tooling to make software development, deployment and operation easier and more unified for our product teams, while also keeping in mind internal company security. You will be responsible for implementing robust observability solutions for the tools your team manages - enabling insights into system performance, identifying issues proactively, and guiding future development priorities. Collaboration will also be important, as you’ll partner closely with software engineers across the organization to gather requirements, drive adoption, and continuously improve the internal developer experience.

Requirements:

  • Software engineering skills, ideally with Go, but not a hard requirement as long as you’re willing to transition to it
  • Experience in platform engineering, with familiarity in technologies such as CI/CD systems (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Argo CD), infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform), and container orchestration tooling (e.g., Kubernetes, Helm, Docker).
  • Experience with IaaS building blocks in any of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • You have to be physically in any of the European countries GMT 0 to GMT +3.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a “yes, we can” attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the developer experience by identifying and addressing friction points through concrete data from observability, through developer feedback and developer experience surveys.
  • Develop and maintain observability solutions (metrics, tracing, logging) that provide objective, measurable insights into the behavior and performance of the internal tools and processes owned by the Tooling Team, enabling data-driven identification of pain points, and guiding future efforts to enhance the overall developer experience.
  • Partner with other engineering teams to gather requirements for the owned tooling and to drive best practices that improve productivity.
  • Continuously evolve internal tooling to streamline workflows, standardize processes, and maintain strong alignment with company security and operational standards.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary (€6,500 - €9,000 gross, depending on the level of experience)
  • Enjoy a flexible, remote-first global environment.
  • Collaborate with a global team of cloud experts and innovators, passionate about pushing the boundaries of Kubernetes technology.
  • Equity options.
  • Get quick feedback with a fast-paced workflow. Most feature projects are completed in 1 to 4 weeks.
  • Spend 10% of your work time on personal projects or self-improvement.
  • Learning budget for professional and personal development - including access to international conferences and courses that elevate your skills.
  • Annual hackathon to spark new ideas and strengthen team bonds.
  • Team-building budget and company events to connect with your colleagues.
  • Equipment budget to ensure you have everything you need.
