About ChalkTalk

ChalkTalk is a platform for teachers to build, personalize, share & teach their real-time learning courses. 97% of teachers in the US assemble or write their own lesson plans & teaching materials—with no material relationship to the commercial curriculum. This takes up to 2.5hrs/day and the output is often one-size-fits-all. ChalkTalk enables teachers to build hyper personalized courses in under 2 minutes. We’ve built the network product for learning—GitHub for education—and it’s currently being used to power ELA and math classes in K-12 schools across the country. The current TAM from US K-12 alone is $12.5B but there are several verticals for our solution, beyond K12 education, collectively a $5T TAM.

  • Sell digital curriculum and instruction deals at $100k-$1M per deal.
  • Lead Generation: Generate leads aggressively (including cold calls and cold emails) and follow up with 100% of prospects promptly until they are disqualified
  • Lead Conversion: Achieve and surpass sales targets by closing deals with K-12 public school District leaders, resulting in increased revenue for the company. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales revenue targets, demonstrating consistent performance in driving sales.
  • Successful and Strategic Territory Penetration: Identify the most painful needs that districts in a new territory have (both at the territory level and at the individual district level), and match the right product offering to the right district. Enter and establish a presence in new territories, as evidenced by a growing customer base in these regions.
  • Deliver Customer Value: Be the trusted advisor to prospects, understanding their needs, and demonstrating how ChalkTalk's platform can add significant value to their educational objectives
  • Full Cycle Sales: Research, prospect, demo and own the entire sales lifecycle until handoff to implementation and then again with renewal and upsell
  • Drive Sales Team Performance: Act as the dotted line manager of our small team (2) of Account Executives. Foster friendly internal competition within the team, implementing weekly sales strategies to enhance performance and make the sales process more enjoyable and collaborative.
  • Data-Driven Sales Approach: Highly analytical and data-driven in sales approach. Analyze sales metrics, Hubspot reports, and other relevant data to identify trends, optimize strategies, and improve overall sales team performance.
  • Education Sales Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in successfully selling educational products or services, with a focus on multi-million dollar deals for Curriculum & Instruction (C&I).
  • Experience working at a high growth startup
  • Mental Fortitude: At ChalkTalk we run an outbound shop. Therefore, you must have the resiliency to push through rejection and roadblocks to meet your goals. Must have cold calling experience within the last 2 years
  • Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the K-12 education landscape, including curriculum needs and challenges faced by school districts.
  • Self-Motivated: Demonstrate a proactive and self-driven approach to achieving sales targets and exploring new opportunities.
  • Collaborative Leader: As a leader of a small team, they should demonstrate strong collaboration skills, fostering a supportive and cooperative environment that encourages individual and team success.
  • Leadership Potential: The candidate should demonstrate potential for leadership growth, with an option to transition into a Sales Management role in the future if seen fit
