About IT Security Technician Position:

As an IT Security Technician , you will play a hands-on leadership for IT and corporate security. You will be responsible for protecting our company’s digital infrastructure from cyber threats, implementing and maintaining security measures, monitoring network activity, and responding to security incidents.Take ownership of onboarding and off boarding vendors, ensuring that appropriate security measures are in place during the process.Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and systems.The position is remote but the candidate must be based in the United States. Responsibilities

• Assess the current IT systems and make recommendations for improvements that align with the company's security policy.
• Implement and manage network security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and intrusion prevention systems to safeguard against unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Manage user access and permissions, including user account provisioning and de-provisioning, and implement strong authentication methods.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in the organization's systems and applications.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Promote security awareness and best practices among employees through training and communication initiatives.
• Monitor network traffic for signs of suspicious activity, investigate security incidents, and coordinate incident response efforts to contain and mitigate threats.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and ensure that systems and software are regularly patched and updated.
• Participate in security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, incident reports, and security-related procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and management to integrate security into all aspects of the organization's operations.
• Provide ongoing technical support to the team as needed
• Manage and maintain hardware and software inventory, including laptops, servers, and other devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience working as IT technician or a related field
• Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including cloud-based infrastructure such as Azure
• Proven experience in IT security, including hands-on experience with security tools and technologies.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is a plus.
• Experience with access control and user permissions management
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
