Credit Analyst

Marco is a Fintech firm focused on financing underserved SME businesses. Given the profitable financing business model and an underserved market, Marco is scaling rapidly. This role will have high impact potential within the Marco team. We are a fast-paced and client-driven organization with offices located in New York, Miami, and Montevideo. We operate cross-functionally on a variety of levels within the business and our clients.
Responsibilities
Credit Analysts will perform all due diligence procedures on applicants prior to credit committee review. This includes but is not limited to:
- Conduct underwriting based on our credit manual and make compelling credit memos. This includes some clerical work but it is essential to the blocking and tackling of our business: 1) Verifying the borrower’s identity and income; 2) Analyzing the borrower’s financial documents; 3) Contacting clients to request for additional information by phone or by email on an ad-hoc basis; 4) Forecast, track and measure key business metrics to help optimize our underwriting procedures
- Monitor client facilities by conducting daily evaluations
- Responsible for reviewing legal documentation and ensuring proper administrative follow up of credit decisions
- Responsible for conducting company and industry research as necessary
- Credit process improvement
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in an underwriting role within the financial services. Ideally at least 2 years in Investment Banking or Big Four Accounting
- Experience in cross-border transactions is a plus
- Advanced Excel & financial modeling skills. Able to build robust financial models
- Fintech and CPA experience is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and have a sense of urgency to accomplish tasks at hand
- Spanish speaking proficiency is highly desirable; Fluency in English is required
