About REBEL

REBEL is the first and largest tech platform transforming retail’s $1 trillion returns problem into a smarter, more sustainable model. As a Certified B Corporation, we partner with over 2,500 top brands to give shoppers unbeatable deals on open-box and overstock products—while keeping millions of pounds of product out of landfills every year.

We’re building a brand that feels real, culturally relevant, and internet-native—and social content is a huge part of that.

About the Role

We’re looking for a freelance Social Content Creator to support our social channels through hands-on content creation. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who lives online, understands TikTok and Instagram culture, and is excited to create short-form content in a fast-paced, real-world environment.

You’ll be filming on-site (including in our warehouse), helping turn products, deals, and behind-the-scenes moments into engaging social content. This is an execution-focused role—you’ll work from clear concepts and direction, with room to experiment and learn.

This is a contract role, not a full-time position, and is best suited for someone local to Charlotte with the ability to drive to our warehouse in Kannapolis, NC.

What You’ll Do

  • Create short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram (Reels), from concept to finished asset
  • Film on-site 2–3 days per week, including warehouse-based content
  • Capture product moments, deal highlights, unboxings, and behind-the-scenes footage
  • Participate on camera when appropriate, or help direct others on camera
  • Edit videos with light polish (cuts, text overlays, captions)
  • Follow a weekly content concept calendar to plan filming in advance
  • Stay tapped into trends, sounds, and formats—and flag opportunities to test
  • Collaborate closely with the Brand / Marketing team for feedback and iteration
  • Deliver content on time and in line with brand and safety guidelines

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience creating social content (internships, freelance, or personal projects count)
  • Demonstrated ability to create and edit short-form video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram culture and formats
  • Comfortable filming in real environments—not just studio setups
  • Willingness to be on camera or help bring ideas to life on camera
  • Good creative instincts and curiosity about what performs
  • Ability to take direction, learn quickly, and iterate
  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently
  • Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, etc.)
  • Experience with product-focused or retail content
  • Background in fashion, beauty, wellness, lifestyle, or consumer brands
  • Creator or influencer experience on your own social channels

How We Measure Success

  • Consistent delivery of short-form video content
  • Strong creative judgment and attention to brand guidelines
  • Willingness to test ideas and learn from performance
  • Collaboration, reliability, and professionalism on-site
  • Ability to capture content that feels authentic and engaging

Why This Role Is a Great Opportunity

  • Hands-on experience creating real brand content that ships
  • Exposure to a fast-growing, mission-driven company
  • Direct collaboration with brand leadership
  • Opportunity to build a strong portfolio of social-first work
  • A supportive environment that values learning and experimentation
